Minister Javed Ahmad Rana Directs Uniform E-Way Bill Enforcement for Timber Transit

SRINAGAR, MAY 15, 2026 :- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology, Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, today met with several delegations to address public grievances and industrial challenges.

A prominent representation from the Kashmir Timber Association submitted a memorandum requesting the uniform implementation of the E-Way Bill system for timber transit across Jammu and Kashmir.

The association informed the Minister that although the traditional docket system has been officially replaced by the E-Way Bill, some authorities still demand legacy documentation, leading to confusion, delays, and operational hardships for traders and transporters. In response, the Minister assured prompt intervention and directed officials to ensure the E-Way Bill is strictly and uniformly accepted at all transit checkpoints to facilitate smooth trade.

In addition to industrial concerns, the Minister received a delegation from Mendhar seeking the upgradation of water supply facilities and general infrastructure development in the region.

Other groups also presented local issues for consideration, ranging from developmental needs to social welfare. Javed Ahmad Rana listened to all representations and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public welfare, promising that all genuine grievances would be addressed on a priority basis.

The Minister emphasized that streamlining administrative processes and improving rural infrastructure remain key focus areas for the administration to ensure the overall prosperity of the people.
