JKRERA Inspects Jammu Residential Projects to Enforce Statutory Compliance and Protect Homebuyers

JAMMU, April 30, 2026 — The Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority conducted a series of comprehensive inspections across nine prominent residential developments in Jammu to ensure strict adherence to the Real Estate Act and Unified Building Bye-Laws.

Led by an enforcement team including Esha Chib and Vitasta Raina, the authority visited various sites such as Trikuta Apartments, Royal Nest, and Imperial Apartment to verify project progress and legal documentation. Developers were explicitly instructed to secure all necessary layout approvals and environmental clearances, with the authority reiterating that project registration with JKRERA is a mandatory requirement once statutory formalities are completed.

During the inspections, the team engaged directly with apartment residents to address grievances and understand the practical challenges faced by homeowners.

The authority issued a public appeal advising prospective buyers to invest solely in RERA-approved projects to ensure legal and financial protection.

Furthermore, JKRERA addressed the rising influence of digital marketing, warning content creators and influencers to stop advertising unregistered properties.

All such influencers are now required to register as real estate agents with the authority before promoting any projects.

Chairman Satish Chandra emphasized that any violations of the established rules will result in strict penal action as part of an ongoing mission to foster accountability and protect the interests of consumers in the Union Territory.
