Javed Ahmed Rana Reviews Annual Action Plan for Poonch District

JAMMU, May 2, 2026—Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana chaired a high-level meeting today to review the annual action plan for Poonch district for the 2026–27 financial year.

The session brought together senior officials from various sectors, including tourism, public works, health, and education, to discuss sector-wise priorities and ongoing projects.

The Minister emphasized the importance of realistic planning and the optimal use of resources to ensure that the development goals for the region are met effectively.

During the discussions, Rana directed officers to prioritize the improvement of basic infrastructure, such as drinking water supply, road connectivity, and healthcare services. He stressed that the action plan must reflect the actual needs of the residents, particularly those living in remote and underserved areas.

To ensure inclusive development, the Minister highlighted the necessity of involving elected representatives in the planning process and urged departments to maintain transparency and strict adherence to project timelines.

The Minister also called for a coordinated effort to resolve any existing bottlenecks that might hinder the progress of key projects. He reviewed the proposed financial outlays presented by various departments and issued instructions to refine the plan for maximum public impact.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to equitable growth, Rana stated that the annual action plan should act as a definitive roadmap for accelerating development and enhancing the overall quality of life for the people of Poonch.
