Javed Ahmed Rana inspects eco hut project at Chatta Pani in Poonch to boost sustainable tourism

POONCH, May 16, 2026 :- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana inspected the ongoing construction of an eco hut project near Chatta Pani in Poonch, which is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹1.27 crore.

Executed by the Forest Department under the Eco-Tourism Development Plan, the project aims to promote sustainable tourism and provide modern, eco-friendly resting facilities for tourists, trekkers, and nature lovers.

The initiative is expected to enhance the tourism potential of the region while conserving its rich ecological heritage.During the visit, the Minister interacted with the concerned officers and the executing agency, directing them to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe while strictly maintaining quality standards and environmental safeguards.

He emphasized that such eco-tourism initiatives help create livelihood and employment opportunities for local youth in the hospitality, transport, and allied sectors.

To ensure the integrated development of the area, the Minister instructed officials to undertake extensive landscaping and plantation drives around the site, alongside establishing an efficient waste management system to preserve the natural beauty of Chatta Pani.
