Ganderbal Deputy Commissioner urges residents to participate in Census 2027 self enumeration drive

GANDERBAL, May 16, 2026 :- Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore addressed a press conference to appeal to all residents of Ganderbal to actively participate in the self-enumeration process for Census 2027, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow, May 17, across the district.

The Deputy Commissioner explained that self-enumeration marks the first phase of Census 2027, providing citizens with a convenient opportunity to fill in their census details directly from the comfort of their homes.

The online process can be completed through the official government portal, and tutorials alongside step-by-step flow charts will be shared to ensure public convenience. Highlighting the structural benefits of the initiative, the Deputy Commissioner stated that a unique code will be generated upon the successful completion of the form.

During the upcoming houselisting exercise starting on June 1, residents can simply provide this code to visiting enumerators, eliminating the need to answer the same questionnaire again and saving time for both citizens and official field workers.
