Doda Police hold major drug awareness drives across Kastigarh Thanalla and Karara

DODA, MAY 11: Doda Police organized a series of extensive awareness programs under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan today, targeting multiple educational institutions to combat the spread of substance abuse.

As part of an ongoing Information, Education, and Communication campaign, sessions were held at Government Higher Secondary Schools in Kastigarh, Sartingal, and Chiralla. Police officials, including the heads of Kastigarh, Thanalla, and Karara police posts, joined representatives from various departments to educate students on the physical and psychological dangers of narcotics.

The programs focused on empowering the youth to act as ambassadors for a drug-free society. At Kastigarh and Sartingal, students were sensitized to the long-term impacts of addiction on their health and future career prospects, while being urged to maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

In Chiralla, officers highlighted the legal and social consequences of drug involvement, encouraging students to make informed life choices. Each session concluded with participants taking a formal pledge to actively support the eradication of drug abuse from their local communities.

Faculty members and students participated enthusiastically in these interactive sessions, which the Doda Police described as a key component of their “People First” policing strategy. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining these outreach efforts across the district under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan framework.

By collaborating with various government departments and educational leaders, the police aim to create a robust support system that shields the younger generation from the menace of drug trafficking and addiction.
