Baramulla police demolish property of alleged drug peddler in Janbazpora

BARAMULLA, May 10, 2026:-Authorities in Baramulla carried out a major enforcement action on Sunday by demolishing the property of an alleged drug peddler in the Janbazpora area.

The operation was led by the SHO of Baramulla, supported by the In-charge of the Police Post Old Town and the local revenue team. Officials confirmed that the demolition followed a comprehensive review of all legal procedures, targeting a single-storey structure consisting of two rooms and a grocery shop.

The demolished property belonged to Reyaz Ahmad Khan, who is identified by police as a person involved in narcotics-related activities.

According to investigators, the structure was constructed illegally on encroached land. This move is part of an intensified crackdown by the regional administration to dismantle the infrastructure used by those involved in the drug trade while simultaneously addressing illegal encroachments.

The police department emphasized that this action reflects their firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the district.

By targeting the physical and financial assets of individuals associated with the narcotics trade, authorities aim to send a strong message of zero tolerance.

Law enforcement agencies have vowed to continue taking strict measures against anyone found participating in activities that threaten public safety and the well-being of the youth in Baramulla.
