Army holds defence manufacturing stakeholder conference in Jabalpur
JABALPUR, June 25, 2026 :- Under the aegis of Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area, a stakeholder conference was conducted at the 506 Army Base Workshop in Jabalpur. The event was organized in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation as part of the preparatory engagements for the upcoming National Defence Manufacturing Summit, which is being held under the guidance of the Secretary Defence Production to promote self-reliance in the defense sector.
The conference brought together key leaders and representatives from the Indian Army, the defence industry, academia, defence public sector undertakings, MSMEs, startups, and various government agencies. The participants engaged in detailed deliberations concerning critical aspects of national defense, including defense indigenisation, the creation of resilient supply chains, quality assurance, and the development of necessary testing infrastructure.
The discussions also focused heavily on fostering innovation, advancing research and development, and promoting future-ready skill development.This collaborative initiative reinforces the strategic vision of transforming Jabalpur into a vibrant hub for defense manufacturing and technological innovation.
