Indian Army Southern Command boxers win medals at international championships
PUNE, June 25, 2026:- The Army Commander and all ranks of the Southern Command congratulated Havildar Sachin Siwach and Havildar Jugnoo Ahlawat of the Mahar Regiment for their outstanding performances at recent international boxing tournaments.
Both pugilists trained at the Mahar Regimental Centre in Sagar and the Army Sports Institute in Pune, demonstrating exceptional grit, discipline, and sporting excellence on the global stage.Havildar Sachin Siwach clinched the gold medal in the 60 kg weight category at the Grand Prix Championship 2026 held in the Czech Republic.
In another stellar performance, Havildar Jugnoo Ahlawat secured the bronze medal in the 85 kg category at the World Boxing Cup 2026, which took place in Guiyang, China.The Mission Olympics Wing of the Indian Army has played a key role in nurturing such elite sporting talent within the defense forces.
The international achievements of both boxers have brought great pride and laurels to the Indian Army and the entire nation.
