Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma reviews Lakhanpur Corridor preparations for Shri Amarnath Yatra
KATHUA, JUNE 24 — Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma visited the Lakhanpur Corridor to oversee the final-stage works for the facilitation of pilgrims ahead of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the installation of the multi-facility Yatri Hanger and reviewed the overall preparedness at the Lakhanpur Yatri Facilitation Centre. He also assessed the security layout with SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, who provided a detailed briefing on the deployment plan, surveillance measures, and coordinated security mechanisms being implemented along the corridor.
The bituminous work on the corridor has already been completed, while infrastructure for eKYC, RFID counters, and a dedicated healthcare facility are actively being set up at the facilitation center. Essential amenities, including toilets, sanitary units, and clean drinking water points, have been established at designated locations.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to complete all remaining finishing touches within the next one to two days. Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Joginder Jasrotia and other senior officers from the concerned departments accompanied the team during the inspection.
