J&K Assembly PUC Reviews CAG Audit Paras of JKPDC and JAKEDA to Boost Financial Accountability

SRINAGAR, JULY 29 — The Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly convened a high-level meeting at the Legislative Assembly Complex on Wednesday to review Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) audit observations concerning the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) and the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA).

Chaired by MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta alongside committee members Mian Mehar Ali, Reyaz Ahmad Khan, and Rafiq Ahmad Naik, the meeting examined audit reports spanning the fiscal years 2018–19 and 2020–21. Top administrative officials—including the Additional Chief Secretary of the Power Development Department, Managing Directors of JKPDC, JPDCL, JKPTCL, and KPDCL, senior JAKEDA executives, and JKLA Secretary Manoj Kumar Pandit—were in attendance as the panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of compliance statuses, corrective measures, and operational efficiency across the state power undertakings. Emphasizing the critical need for robust internal financial controls and prudent resource management, the committee directed officers to ensure strict, time-bound implementation of CAG recommendations to drive greater institutional transparency and governance accountability.
