Budgam DC Directs Intensified Anti-Drug Crackdown and Strict Enforcement Under NCORD Initiative
BUDGAM, JULY 29 — The District Administration of Budgam has announced that its intensified crackdown on substance abuse will continue unabated across the district. Chairing the 49th District-Level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) meeting alongside SSP Hariprasad KK, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Athar Aamir Khan evaluated ongoing anti-drug drives, rehabilitation programs, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns.
Reviewing the progress under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan over the past 100 days, the DC directed authorities to maintain strict vigil around educational institutions, enforce 100 percent CCTV coverage and computerized billing at all chemist shops, and execute prompt destruction of illicit cannabis and poppy crops. Additionally, officials were instructed to ensure 24×7 operational readiness of the Addiction Treatment Facility at District Hospital Budgam to facilitate comprehensive counselling, treatment, and follow-up care for affected individuals, while law enforcement pledges further action against drug traffickers.
