J&K Chief Secretary Reviews Progress of Over ₹4,300 Crore NABARD RIDF Infrastructure Projects

SRINAGAR, JULY 29 — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the High Powered Committee (HPC) to review the progress of rural infrastructure projects worth over ₹4,300 crore executed under various tranches of NABARD’s Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). Stressing the vital role of RIDF in bolstering rural connectivity, irrigation, drinking water, and agricultural productivity across the Union Territory, the Chief Secretary instructed departments to maintain a ready shelf of fully sanctioned projects to ensure immediate submission and execution upon the launch of new tranches.

According to a detailed presentation by CGM NABARD, 908 projects involving a total loan assistance of ₹4,303.08 crore have been sanctioned under RIDF Tranches XXVIII to XXXI, with ₹2,301.48 crore disbursed so far; 157 of these projects stand completed while 751 remain under active execution across key sectors—led by the Public Works Department with 660 projects worth ₹2,987.25 crore. Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Shailendra Kumar underscored the need for regular multi-level monitoring and suggested forming district-level committees under respective Deputy Commissioners to ensure quality, transparency, and time-bound delivery of benefits to rural communities.
