Meteorological Centre Srinagar Issues Rain Forecast and Flash Flood Advisory Across Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar, July 29: Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather forecast predicting light to moderate rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir through August 7.
According to the forecast, several parts of Jammu division are expected to receive brief intense heavy showers and torrential rain, particularly during early morning and late afternoon hours from July 29 to July 31, while select areas in Kashmir division may also experience brief intense spells during this period.
The weather department warned that heavy rainfall and intense showers could trigger flash floods, landslides, and mudslides in vulnerable locations between July 29 and August 2. Similar weather conditions with light to moderate showers and intermittent heavy spells are expected to continue through August 7, especially across districts in Jammu division.
In view of the potential risks, the administration has urged the general public, tourists, travelers, and transporters to remain cautious and strictly follow official advisories.
