Srinagar Hosts National Indian Soft Tennis Camp Ahead of Asian Games

SRINAGAR, July 14, 2026 — The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council today inaugurated the second National Coaching Camp for the Indian Soft Tennis Team at the Gindun Sports Stadium in Rajbagh. Approved by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports alongside the Sports Authority of India, the month-long training intensive is organized by the Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India in collaboration with local state associations.

The camp, which is scheduled to run until August 13, serves as a vital preparatory ground for athletes competing in the upcoming 20th Asian Games in Japan later this year.During the opening ceremony, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Secretary Nuzhat Gull attended as the chief guest to interact with the national team players and coaching staff.

Gull assured the delegation of full administrative support throughout their stay in Srinagar and extended her best wishes, expressing confidence that the athletes’ hard work and determination would bring pride to the nation. Representatives from the J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association expressed their gratitude for being selected to host the prestigious event, noting their readiness to coordinate future national and international tournaments.

The inaugural event was attended by prominent sports officials, including Administrative Officer Gh Rasool, Chief Accounts Officer Yasir Sab, and Public Relations Officer Jahangir Ahmad. The Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India was represented by Chief Executive Officer Aniket Khodadhara, National Coach Hashmukh Vegda, National Coaching Camp Coordinator Hassan, National Team Coach Sudesh Sangte, and J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association General Secretary Shakir Ashraf.
