Charar-i-Sharief Healthcare Funds Reviewed to Boost Patient Care Services

SRINAGAR, July 14, 2026 — Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather chaired a meeting of the Hospital Development Fund Committee today to review fund utilization proposals for the 2026-27 financial year across the Sub-District Hospitals in Charar-i-Sharief, Pakherpora, and Kremchore.

The committee discussed the generation of the Hospital Development Fund through user fees from pathological tests, X-rays, and registration tickets. Officials noted that these funds are utilized for paying employee wages, procuring essential medicines, upgrading medical equipment, and handling minor infrastructure repairs.

During the session, the Speaker also evaluated the proposed spending for the Rogi Kalyan Samiti Fund for the upcoming financial year to ensure patient amenities are properly prioritized. Rather stressed the absolute necessity of transparent and judicious spending, directing hospital management to stick strictly to guidelines that maximize direct benefits for patients.

He emphasized avoiding unnecessary expenditures, ensuring accountability, and implementing periodic monitoring so that developmental works and resource allocation occur without any delay.

The meeting highlighted significant quality achievements, noting that all three Sub-District Hospitals in the Charar-i-Sharief block have earned accreditation under the National Quality Assurance Standards. Furthermore, SDH Pakherpora achieved the top rank in Jammu and Kashmir for the prestigious Kayakalp Award for cleanliness this year, following SDH Nagam’s success the previous year.

SDH Charar-i-Sharief has also maintained a consistent streak, receiving the Kayakalp Commendation Award for three consecutive years.Rather concluded the meeting by praising the healthcare staff for their national recognition and quality certifications, urging them to maintain these high standards of hygiene and patient care.

The review session was attended by Chief Medical Officer Budgam Gulzar Ahmad, Block Medical Officer Charar-i-Sharief Tasavur Khan, Block Medical Officer Khansahib Arshid Ahmad, and other key committee members.
