BSF DG Praveen Kumar Reviews Indo-Bangladesh Border Security and Fencing Progress in Sundarbans

SUNDARBANS, WEST BENGALJuly 14, 2026 :- Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Praveen Kumar wrapped up a comprehensive four-day operational review along the Indo-Bangladesh border in the deep Sundarban Delta and its adjacent coastal areas, spanning July 11 to July 14, 2026. During the extensive visit, Kumar assessed the current operational preparedness of the border security grid and inspected the progress of ongoing border fencing projects. Demonstrating a strong commitment to civil-military relations, the Director General hosted public outreach meetings with local residents and government officials, expressing gratitude to the border communities for their continued cooperation and reinforcing the agency’s dedication to maintaining robust public-force ties.

Underscoring the demanding nature of the deployment, Kumar spent nights alongside the Seema Praharis, directly interacting with troops stationed at the frontline. He highly commended the personnel for their unwavering dedication to securing a geographically hostile and challenging terrain, while urging them to strictly uphold professionalism, integrity, and the core mandate of the force. The four-day tour concluded with Kumar chairing a high-level review meeting that brought together various stakeholders to evaluate the progress of the border fencing project and discuss overall border management strategies, placing a sharp focus on maximizing inter-agency coordination to build a more resilient border security grid.
