Jammu & Kashmir MLAs Meet Minister Javed Rana To Resolve Key Constituency Grievances

SRINAGAR, JULY 09, 2026 — In a major push for grassroots development, MLA Rajpora Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir, MLA Uri Dr. Sajad Shafi, and MLA Pampore Hasnain Masoodi met with Javed Ahmed Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, at the Civil Secretariat today. The legislators briefed the Minister on urgent public grievances and developmental needs within their respective constituencies.

Their discussions focused heavily on improving drinking water supply schemes, repairing damaged irrigation channels, safeguarding forest lands, and upgrading flood control infrastructure in vulnerable areas. Individually, Mir emphasized irrigation and drainage issues in Rajpora; Dr. Shafi pressed for the swift completion of water supply projects in Uri; and Masoodi raised critical environmental concerns affecting Pampore while seeking immediate relief for his constituents.

Assuring the delegation of prompt action, Minister Javed Rana affirmed that the Omar Abdullah administration is deeply committed to prioritizing and resolving all genuine public demands in a time-bound manner. Highlighting that public service and grassroots progress are top priorities, Rana instructed department officials and engineers to fast-track pending works, personally monitor ground reality, and provide regular compliance reports to avoid unnecessary project delays. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with the MLAs expressing strong confidence that the highlighted issues would be addressed swiftly to benefit the people of Rajpora, Uri, and Pampore.
