Pulwama DLSA Launches Legal Aid Mobile Outreach Vehicle for Remote Areas

PULWAMA, JULY 09 2026: In a major effort to improve access to justice in remote regions, the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), who also serves as the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Pulwama, officially flagged off a newly allotted Mahindra Bolero Neo multi-utility vehicle from the District Court Complex today. Provided by the J&K Legal Services Authority, the vehicle is specifically designated to boost the outreach of legal services to marginalized, tribal, and far-flung communities across the district.

During the ceremony, the Chairman emphasized that the vehicle will serve as a vital link between legal institutions and isolated residents, enabling widespread legal awareness campaigns and participation in mega legal services camps. To guarantee strict accountability, the Chairman directed that the vehicle operate solely under the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) established by the National Legal Services Authority, instructing the DLSA Secretary to ensure it is used exclusively for public welfare and legal aid.

This mobile support will allow panel lawyers and para-legal volunteers to travel directly to tribal pockets to educate citizens on their legal rights, government welfare schemes, and available free legal counsel. The launch event was attended by local judicial officers, defense counsels, and legal volunteers, who all expressed gratitude to the state authority for providing the mobility support required to bring justice directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most.
