Indian Army successfully concludes high altitude Silk Route Expedition in Ladakh

LADAKH, July 9, 2026:- The Indian Army successfully concluded the Silk Route Expedition 2026, traversing 307 km across the high-altitude terrain of Ladakh over a period of 12 days.

Moving from Nimu to the iconic Karakoram Pass, the expedition negotiated some of the world’s most challenging mountain passes, ranging from 11,000 to over 16,000 feet, before being officially flagged in upon completion.

Retracing the historic Silk Route, the expedition celebrated India’s rich civilisational heritage while demonstrating the endurance, courage, and unwavering resolve of Indian soldiers in one of the most demanding environments on Earth.

The initiative aimed at honouring the past, embracing the present, and strengthening the enduring bond between the Indian Army and the local population of the Ladakh region.
