Landslide strikes Vaishno Devi track leading to temporary suspension of battery car service

JAMMU, JULY 08: A landslide triggered by heavy rains struck the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage track atop the Trikota hills in Reasi district on Wednesday evening, leading to the temporary suspension of the battery car service.

Officials confirmed that despite the landslide, which occurred near Himkoti on the new track, the pilgrimage to the revered shrine remained completely unaffected, with hundreds of pilgrims continuing their journey along the route.

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board immediately deployed personnel and machinery to clear the debris from the track, while the ongoing yatra was safely diverted and continued smoothly through the traditional old route.
