Indian Army Unit and DSMNRU Lucknow Sign Agreement to Support Children With Special Needs
LUCKNOW, June 27, 2026 — Headquarters Pashchim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area and Dr Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen support and inclusive education for children with special needs.
The agreement was signed in the presence of sub area General Officer Commanding Sumit Rana and university Vice Chancellor Sanjay Singh. Conceptualized by Vikram Patra, the initiative designates ASHA Schools as a Regional Nodal Centre for capacity building and specialized training of educators and therapists.
The collaboration will facilitate advanced rehabilitation clinics, access to state-of-the-art rehabilitation laboratories, and active research and innovation in assistive technologies. It will also introduce structured professional development programs designed to strengthen inclusive education and rehabilitation systems across the region.
The memorandum was formally exchanged between university Dean of Academics Kaushal Sharma and Vikram Patra to build partnerships that empower every child to realize their full potential.
