COAS General Upendra Dwivedi Honours Five Outstanding Army Veterans in Ladakh

LEH, June 27, 2026 — Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi felicitated five distinguished army veterans during his visit to the Fire and Fury Corps.

The achievers award was presented to Colonel Tondup Wangail, Major Rinchen Dolma Kolto, Subedar Major Sonam Morup, Subedar Major Tashi Chhepal, and Naik Ghulam Haider in recognition of their exceptional contributions toward veteran welfare, healthcare, community development, and nation-building.

Through their selfless initiatives, the awardees have significantly transformed healthcare delivery in the remote regions of Ladakh and expanded essential outreach to ex-servicemen and families of fallen soldiers.

Their efforts have also promoted skill development, enhanced self-reliance, secured land and welfare measures for veteran families, and provided steadfast support to those requiring specialized medical care.
