NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam and Shri Amarnath Yatra: Kashmir Police Finalize High-Security Plans
SRINAGAR June 18,2026 — Inspector General of Police Kashmir V. K. Birdi chaired a high-level review meeting to finalize comprehensive security and traffic arrangements for two major upcoming events: the NEET UG 2026 re-examination and the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026. The meeting, attended by top traffic and district police chiefs across the Kashmir Zone, focused on ensuring smooth, transparent, and incident-free operations for both the national exam and the annual pilgrimage.
For the NEET UG re-examination, the region’s police chief ordered strict implementation of standard operating procedures across all centers. Field officers were directed to deploy adequate personnel to manage access control, streamline crowd management, and maintain law and order. Rigorous frisking and identity verification will be conducted at entry points in close coordination with exam authorities, alongside secure escort protocols for confidential examination materials.
Simultaneously, security plans for SANJY-2026 were thoroughly reviewed to guarantee foolproof protection for pilgrim convoys. District police chiefs have been instructed to personally supervise security deployments and utilize real-time monitoring. To prevent public inconvenience, the traffic department will strictly enforce convoy schedules and cut-off timings, ensuring seamless coordination among security agencies while maintaining public-friendly policing throughout both events.
