Javid Ahmad Dar Flags Off Farmers for Advanced Training at SKUAST Kashmir
SRINAGAR June 11,2026— Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Minister Javid Ahmad Dar flagged off a group of farmers for a one-day training and awareness program at SKUAST-Kashmir.
Organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Advisory Board, the initiative aims to enhance the knowledge of farmers by exposing them to modern agricultural practices, drawing participation from around 80 progressive farmers from various areas.
The minister emphasized the critical role of capacity building and knowledge-sharing in strengthening the agricultural sector. He explained that the session would provide farmers with firsthand exposure to high-density orchard management, integrated farming systems, waste decomposer technology, modern tools, and post-harvest management.
He noted that these initiatives are vital for raising farm productivity, boosting incomes, and advancing sustainable practices across the region, encouraging participants to share their new insights with fellow farmers.The program also provided a platform for farmers to exchange experiences and interact with experts regarding organic farming, crop management, and emerging technologies.
The flagging-off ceremony was attended by Lal Chowk MLA Sheikh Ahsan Ahmed, Director Agriculture Kashmir Sartaj Ahmad Shah, Secretary of the Kissan Advisory Board Bhumesh Sharma, and several chief agriculture and horticulture officers from Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, and Ganderbal.
