Heavy Rainfall Lashes Jammu and Kashmir; Udhampur Records Highest at 295.8 mm
Srinagar 03 September :- Significant rainfall was recorded across the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in the previous 24 hours until 8:30 a.m. today.
The Jammu region bore the brunt of the wet spell, with Udhampur recording a staggering 295.8 mm of rain, the highest in the area. Other major stations in Jammu also reported heavy downpours, including Reasi (233.0 mm), Katra (212.1 mm), and Batote (176.5 mm).
The Kashmir Valley experienced widespread but varied precipitation, with Kokernag and Qazigund receiving the highest amounts of 82.4 mm and 82.0 mm respectively, while several areas like Kupwara and Gulmarg saw lesser rainfall under 10 mm.
In a rare occurrence, the arid region of Ladakh also received showers, with Kargil and Leh recording 28.0 mm and 11.0 mm of rainfall.
