Indian Army athlete Krishan Kumar wins gold at Senior National Athletics Championship

RANCHI, May 29, 2026 – Naib Subedar Krishan Kumar of the Gajraj Corps Blazing Sword Division secured a gold medal at the Senior National Athletics Championship held in Ranchi. Competing in the 800-meter event, he clocked an exceptional timing of 1:47.68 to secure the top spot on the podium.

With this performance, Krishan Kumar became only the fourth Indian athlete in history to breach the prestigious 1:48 barrier in the 800-meter category.
