Punjab ranks first in education in Niti Aayog rankings says Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann
CHANDIGARH, May 16, 2026 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the state’s education revolution has received major national recognition, with Punjab securing the number one rank across the country in the field of education in the latest Niti Aayog rankings.
The Chief Minister attributed this academic success to key government initiatives, including sending teachers to Finland for advanced training, introducing computers in 99% of schools, and successfully conducting regular parent-teacher meetings, which have helped children from ordinary households achieve outstanding results.
Alongside educational achievements, Mann reiterated the government’s firm stance on state rights, declaring that Haryana will not receive any additional water, the rights of eligible voters will remain fully protected, and strict anti-sacrilege laws will continue to be rigorously enforced.
He emphasized that the sole objective of the state government is to elevate the living standards of the common people through continuous development in education, healthcare, and public infrastructure.
