Drone training programme for ex-servicemen conducted in Lucknow
LUCKNOW, May 16, 2026 — A seven-day specialized drone training programme for ex-servicemen concluded in Lucknow, marking a significant step toward modern skill development and veteran empowerment.
Organized by the Directorate General of EME in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam, the initiative successfully trained 31 selected veterans.
Under the guidance of DGCA-certified instructors, the participants underwent rigorous instruction covering flight simulator training, drone operations, aerial surveillance, mission planning, safety procedures, and smart security technologies, including CCTV integration.
The programme aims to prepare veterans for emerging employment opportunities in drone-based security, infrastructure monitoring, and smart surveillance across Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country.
By blending disciplined military backgrounds with modern technological skills, the initiative opens new avenues for meaningful post-retirement careers and reinforces the commitment of the Indian Army toward the welfare, resettlement, and continued contribution of veterans to nation-building.
