Omar Abdullah launches development projects worth over 42 crore in Ganderbal
SRINAGAR May 10, 2026 :- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several development initiatives totaling ₹42.38 crore during a comprehensive tour of the Ganderbal district today.
The projects cover a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, heritage conservation, and road connectivity. Key highlights include the foundation for a modern library in Beehama, the restoration of the historic Malshahi Masjid, and the inauguration of advanced diagnostic machinery at District Hospital Ganderbal.
The Chief Minister also e-launched various road upgradation projects and a new divisional office for the Sindh Forest Division to streamline administrative services.During his visit to the Government College of Physical Education in Gadoora, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for a new youth hostel costing ₹15.26 crore and inspected modern sports science equipment.
He praised the institution for adopting scientific approaches to sports training and education. Accompanying him were Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary and several cabinet ministers, signaling a high-level administrative focus on enhancing the district’s infrastructure and public facilities for the local youth.
A significant portion of the tour was dedicated to the Guzhama Bridge, a project that has remained stalled for over a decade. After reviewing the site and technical progress, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the bridge is completed within the approved budget and timeframe.
Interacting with local residents, he acknowledged the difficulties caused by the long delay and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to resolving such long-pending infrastructure issues to alleviate public hardship.
