Udhampur Police Demolish Illegal Property Of Notorious Drug Peddler

UDHAMPUR, April 28, 2026In a decisive move to dismantle local narcotics networks, the Udhampur Police and District Administration conducted a joint operation to demolish an illegally constructed house belonging to a notorious drug peddler.

The property, located at Jojrian Talab, belonged to Rafiq, son of Bansi, and was situated on encroached state land. The action underscores the ongoing commitment to the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan and the goal of creating a drug-free district.

The demolished structure had previously been attached and seized under Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. This legal action was linked to a 2025 criminal case registered at the Udhampur Police Station involving several sections of the NDPS Act.

Investigations revealed that the accused had utilized illegally acquired means to encroach upon state land and construct the residence, leading to the administrative order for its destruction.

Authorities stated that this demolition is part of a broader, intensified crackdown against drug traffickers and their financial assets.

By targeting the immovable properties of those involved in the trade, law enforcement aims to strike at the economic foundation of narco-syndicates. Officials reiterated that such operations will continue until the narcotics network in the region is completely neutralized.
