Udhampur Bus Accident: CRPF 137 Battalion Donates Blood to Save Injured Victims
UDHAMPUR, April 20 — Following a tragic bus accident in the Khagote area of Ramnagar Tehsil, Udhampur district, which resulted in 21 fatalities and left approximately 57 people injured, the 137th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) showcased an extraordinary humanitarian gesture.
As soon as news of the disaster reached the unit, a team led by Dr. Manish Rundla rushed to the Government District Hospital to assist the overwhelmed medical staff.
Recognizing the urgent need for life-saving resources,On the Direction of Commandant 137 Bn Manoj Kunar Sicon 12 to 14 CRPF personnel voluntarily donated blood to ensure that the hospital maintained an adequate supply for the critically injured victims.
While the District Administration, local police, and the Indian Army spearheaded the initial rescue operations at the crash site, the CRPF’s swift action at the hospital provided a vital lifeline for those undergoing emergency surgery and treatment.
This commendable initiative by the 137th Battalion aimed to prevent any loss of life due to blood shortages during the crisis. The selfless contribution of these jawans has been widely praised by the local community and hospital authorities, highlighting the force’s commitment to public service beyond their traditional security duties.
