Satish Sharma Reviews Accident Victim Care and Trauma Services at GMC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, APRIL 20: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, and Information Technology, Satish Sharma, conducted a comprehensive visit to Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur today to evaluate the medical care provided to road accident victims.

During his inspection of the emergency and trauma wards, the Minister assessed the institution’s overall preparedness for handling critical cases and interacted directly with patients and their attendants to gather feedback on the quality of hospital services.

Emphasizing that rapid medical intervention is the most critical factor in saving lives during emergencies, Sharma reviewed the current availability of specialist doctors, paramedical staff, and diagnostic infrastructure.

He issued direct instructions to the hospital administration to ensure round-the-clock staffing of specialists and to maintain a constant supply of life-saving drugs, blood bank services, and well-equipped ambulances.

The Minister also stressed the necessity of a seamless coordination strategy between the health, transport, and police departments to streamline patient referral systems and accident response protocols.

Beyond immediate trauma care, the Minister underscored the importance of maintaining rigorous standards of hygiene and sanitation within the facility. He reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects at GMC Udhampur, promising the provision of necessary resources to meet the region’s growing healthcare demands and upgrade essential medical equipment.

Accompanied by MLA Ramnagar R.S. Pathania, MLA Gulabgarh Khursheed Ahmad, and the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Sharma concluded his visit by praising the dedication of the medical staff and urging them to continue their service with a focus on both efficiency and compassion.
