Union Home Minister Amit Shah Likely to Visit Jammu on August 31 and September 01
JAMMU, AUGUST 28 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to undertake a two-day visit to Jammu on August 31 and September 1. During the visit, he is expected to conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas to take stock of the situation on the ground.The visit comes in the backdrop of heavy rains and flooding that have caused widespread disruption in parts of the Jammu region.
The Home Minister is expected to review the relief and rehabilitation measures being undertaken by the administration, along with the steps initiated for restoring normalcy in the affected areas.Officials said that during his stay, Amit Shah is also likely to hold meetings with senior civil and security officials to assess the ongoing response measures and to ensure that necessary assistance reaches the affected families at the earliest.Preparations are underway in Jammu for the smooth conduct of the high-level visit.
