Heavy rains wreak havoc in Ghordi block, critical infrastructure severely damaged

Udhampur 29 August :- Torrential rainfall has caused extensive damage across the Ghordi block, leaving a trail of destruction that has crippled normal life. The downpour has severely damaged key infrastructure, including roads, electricity poles, schools, residential homes, and vast stretches of agricultural land. The scale of the damage has resulted in a complete breakdown of essential services, with road connectivity, electricity supply, drinking water, and mobile network services totally snapped, effectively cutting off many areas from the outside world.

In response to the emerging crisis, former Chairman of the Block Development Council, Arti Sharma, visited the affected areas to personally assess the situation and oversee the relief operations. After conducting her tour, she appealed to the local residents to maintain patience and courage during this difficult time. She assured the community that relief efforts are being carried out at a rapid pace and are being prioritized to restore normalcy. Authorities are working tirelessly to clear debris, restore connectivity, and provide essential supplies to those in need. While the situation remains challenging, there is a strong hope that the persistent efforts will soon provide respite from the current troubles.
