Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena Inaugurates Modern Rural Development Complex in Kargil

KARGIL | APRIL 12, 2026 :- In a significant move toward regional development, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Rural Development Complex and Resource Centre in Kargil today.

The inauguration took place in the presence of the Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of Kargil, Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, and the Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Mohd Haneefa Jan. Designed to function as a centralized hub for rural planning and service delivery, the new centre aims to streamline operations by converging various rural departments under a single roof, thereby enhancing capacity building and administrative efficiency across the district.

During the event, LG Saxena also distributed rural skill training certificates to local youth who have successfully completed programs geared toward self-employment and community empowerment.

This initiative highlights the administration’s commitment to fostering a sustainable local economy by equipping the younger generation with professional expertise.

While congratulating the residents of Kargil, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the establishment of this resource centre is a pivotal step in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of “Rural Empowerment” and “Antyodaya,” focusing on delivering progress with speed, skill, and sensitivity to the farthest corners of the region.
