LPG Booking: 25 Days for Urban and 45 Days for Rural; Government Rejects Rumors of Change
NEW DELHI March 25, 2026:- The Government of India has issued a formal clarification today to dismiss misleading reports and social media rumors regarding changes to LPG refill booking schedules. Contrary to viral claims suggesting that booking windows have been restructured based on connection types—such as 45 days for PMUY and 35 days for double bottle connections—officials have confirmed that no such policy shift has occurred.
The Ministry reiterated that the existing guidelines remain fully in effect without any modifications.Under the current standing policy, the eligibility for booking an LPG refill continues to be determined by geography rather than the specific category of the connection.
Residents in urban areas are eligible to book a refill every 25 days, while those in rural areas maintain a timeline of 45 days. These standard intervals apply universally across all connection types, ensuring a consistent distribution cycle nationwide.
Authorities have urged the public to disregard speculative reports and refrain from engaging in panic booking, which can lead to unnecessary strain on the supply chain.
The government emphasized that the country maintains robust and adequate LPG stocks, ensuring that there is no shortage of fuel for domestic use.
Citizens are encouraged to rely only on official government channels for information regarding essential utility services.
