Jammu & Kashmir Government Prepones Jumat-ul-Vida Holiday to March 13

Srinagar, March 12, 2026: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced a change in the holiday schedule for the observance of Jumat-ul-Vida.

According to a government order issued today by the General Administration Department (GAD), the public holiday on account of Jumat-ul-Vida, which was originally scheduled for March 20, 2026, has been preponed.

The holiday will now be observed across the Union Territory on Friday, March 13, 2026.

The order, issued under the direction of the Lieutenant Governor and signed by Commissioner/Secretary M. Raju (IAS), cites a partial modification of previous government orders from late 2025. This adjustment applies to all government offices and educational institutions within Jammu and Kashmir.
