Power Shutdown Notice: Extensive Outages Scheduled Across Jammu and Adjoining Districts for March 3 and 5

JAMMU, J&K | March 02, 2026 — The Chief Engineer (Distribution) of the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has issued a comprehensive power shutdown schedule for various regions to facilitate essential maintenance and system upgrades.

Residents in Mahanpur, Raipur, Dhama, Chunera, Dambra, and Palehal will experience a power cut on March 3 from 9 am to 3 pm, while the Ramkot, Khoon, Ghar, Gujroo Nagrota, Lakhri, and Gura Kalyal areas, along with their neighbors, will face outages on both March 3 and March 5 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Urban centers like Trikuta Nagar will see a disruption on March 3 from 2 pm to 6 pm, with parts of Gandhi Nagar and Trikuta Nagar also affected earlier that day from 9 am to 12 noon.

Additionally, supply to Trilokpur, Talab Tillo, Seora, and Gajansoo will remain suspended on March 3 from 10 am to 4 pm, coinciding with similar timings for the Ramnagar and Chowki Majpouri sectors.The maintenance drive also impacts rural and strategic zones, with Bali Gulaba, Chowki Choura, Maira Mandrian, and Tanda scheduled for a shutdown on March 3 from 9 am to 4 pm.

Key hubs including Main Bazaar, Jakhani, Pakhlai, Pathi, Panchery, ITBP, and the Railway areas will be affected on March 3 from 10 am to 3 pm.

Looking toward later in the week, the JPDCL has notified that Majalta, Mansar, Battal, and Dhema will face a five-hour outage on March 5 starting at 10 am. Furthermore, the Dhar Road, Sangoor, MES, and Cherry Sial areas are slated for a power suspension on March 5 from 12 noon to 4:30 pm.

Consumers are advised to plan their schedules around these timings to minimize inconvenience as the department works on strengthening the regional power grid.
