BSF DG Praveen Kumar Awards Sword of Honour at Gwalior Passing Out Parade

GWALIOR, February 14, 2026 – Praveen Kumar, IPS, Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), presided over a prestigious graduation ceremony at the BSF Academy, where he recognized the exceptional merit of the newest cohort of officers.

In a standout moment of the event, the Director General conferred the coveted Sword of Honour upon Assistant Commandant Sunil Kumar, who was named the outstanding officer of the batch. This top distinction was awarded to Sunil Kumar for his consistent excellence across rigorous physical tests, academic examinations, precision firing, and demanding outdoor exercises, symbolizing the highest standards of leadership and discipline within the force.

The accolades for Assistant Commandant Sunil Kumar continued as he was also honored with the A.S. Aulakh Medal and Running Trophy for being the All Round Best Trainee, marking him as a “first among equals.” Additionally, the ceremony celebrated the precision and drill excellence of the batch, with the Director’s Baton being awarded to Assistant Commandant Dheeraj Singh Madnawat for his immaculate command of the Passing Out Parade.
