Western Command Chief Reviews Kharga Corps Preparedness; Commends Success of Op SINDOOR

AMBALA, February 14, 2026 — Underscoring the Indian Army’s strike capabilities, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Army Commander of the Western Command, visited the prestigious Kharga Corps to review its current operational preparedness and strategic readiness.

During the visit, the Army Commander lauded the formation for its exceptional contribution during Operation SINDOOR and its broader role in nation-building efforts. He emphasized that the lessons harvested from recent operations must be integrated into the Corps’ evolving strategy to ensure the force remains agile and lethal in a rapidly changing security environment.

Addressing all ranks, Lt Gen Katiyar exhorted the troops to continuously refine their operational plans, tactics, and procedures. He stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of readiness to prosecute high-intensity operations at short notice.

Highlighting the strategic weight of the formation, the Army Commander noted that the Kharga Corps remains poised and “ready to strike at the very heart of the adversary.”

This visit reinforces the Western Command’s focus on technological adaptation and tactical excellence, ensuring that its strike elements are fully prepared to impose the national will whenever called upon.
