SHOPIAN, February 13, 2026 — As part of an intensified crackdown on the regional drug trade, the Shopian Police successfully recovered a significant cache of illicit substances during a targeted raid in the Khudpora area. Acting on precise intelligence, a specialized team from Police Station Shopian, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, executed a search at the residence of Danish Maqbool Malik.
During the operation, officers discovered and seized approximately 3.072 kg of a substance appearing to be poppy straw. While the contraband was secured, the accused managed to evade capture and fled the scene just as the raid commenced.
A high-priority manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.Following the seizure, authorities officially registered a case under FIR No. 11/2026 of the NDPS Act.
