SAMBA, February 13, 2026 — In a significant move to strengthen emergency medical response in Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, officially handed over a fully equipped ambulance to the District Health Department today.
The life-saving vehicle was donated by the Samba unit of Kandhari Beverages Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate, aimed at bridging the healthcare gap in geographically isolated regions.
During the handover ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that such corporate partnerships are vital for improving healthcare accessibility, particularly in difficult terrains where timely medical transport can be the difference between life and death.
The ambulance was received by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Samba, Dr. Vidhi Bhatial, who confirmed that the vehicle will be immediately deployed to serve patients in the district’s most “hard-to-reach” areas.
By reducing critical delays in emergency response and patient transfers, this initiative directly addresses a primary concern for rural residents.
Following the successful handover, the district administration lauded the contribution of Kandhari Beverages Limited and issued a call to other regional corporate entities to follow suit, urging them to invest in social infrastructure to further bolster public health services across Samba.
