Army Commander Northern Command Chairs High-Level Joint Security Review to Bolster Counter-Terror Framework

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Feb 13, 2026 — In a concerted effort to fortify the security grid across Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of the Northern Command, chaired a high-level Joint Control Centres meeting via virtual mode earlier today.

The weekly session brought together a powerhouse of security leadership, including senior military commanders and top-tier officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other key intelligence and administrative stakeholders from both the Srinagar and Jammu divisions.

The deliberations centered on a comprehensive audit of the current security landscape, with a primary focus on enhancing intelligence sharing and optimizing joint readiness to tackle emerging threats.

Recognizing the importance of a unified front, Lt Gen Sharma emphasized refining inter-agency synergy to ensure seamless coordination between the Army and paramilitary forces.

The meeting concluded with a strategic roadmap aimed at further strengthening the Counter-Terrorism (CT) framework, ensuring that the security apparatus remains proactive and resilient against any attempts to disrupt peace in the region.
