Kargil Vijay Diwas 2026: Indian Army Organizes Mega Medical and Veterinary Camp in Dras Valley

DRAS, LADAKH — July 3, 2026 :- As part of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Government Health Department of Dras and Kargil and Metro Zone Health Services Pvt Ltd, successfully organized a Mega Medical and Veterinary Camp at Mughalpura today. Aimed at bringing essential multi-specialty healthcare and animal welfare services directly to the remote communities of the Dras Valley, the initiative reflects the military’s core philosophy of “Care Beyond Boundaries, Service Beyond Duty.”

The single-day camp successfully treated a total of 335 beneficiaries drawn from the surrounding areas of Pandras, Matayen, Dras, and Bhimbat. Local residents received expert consultations in specialized fields including Gynecology, Orthopedics, Dentistry, and General Medicine, with a dedicated emphasis placed on critical pre- and post-natal care for mothers. Parallelly, veterinary specialists provided vital healthcare services and treatments for local livestock, offering crucial economic support to both the settled local population and the migratory Bakarwal community. Through this compassionate outreach, the Indian Army continues to strengthen its enduring, deeply rooted bond of trust and service with the people of Ladakh.
