BUDGAM, February 12, 2026 — As part of a continuous effort to foster community engagement and promote physical fitness, the Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a high-energy knock-out football tournament at the District Police Lines, Budgam.
Held under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26, the event saw enthusiastic participation from multiple teams representing the Budgam Sub-Division. The tournament was officially inaugurated by Sajad Ahmad-JKPS, DySP Headquarters Budgam, alongside Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din and the SHO Budgam.
The primary objective of this sports initiative was to steer local youth toward healthy lifestyle choices while instilling core values of discipline and teamwork. By providing a structured platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, the J&K Police aim to encourage the younger generation to remain involved in constructive and empowering activities. Such events are integral to the Civic Action Programme, serving as a bridge to strengthen the bond between the police force and the public.
The tournament concluded with a competitive final match between Rehbar 11 Budgam and FYCO FC Ompora. In a closely contested game, Rehbar 11 Budgam secured a 1–0 victory to claim the championship title.
Following the match, both finalists were honored with trophies and cash rewards for their performances. Local residents and participants praised the police department for the initiative, expressing a strong desire for more sporting events to be held in the future to support local talent.
