BANDIPORA, February 12, 2026 — In a major crackdown on the narcotics trade, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached the immovable property of a notorious drug peddler in Bandipora. The action was taken against Mohd Shafi Sheikh, son of Mohd Shahbaz Sheikh and resident of Ward No 5, Sheikh Mohalla, under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985.
The attached assets include a substantial three-story residential house with an attic.The department’s investigation and inquiry revealed that the property was prima facie acquired through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Records indicate that the individual is a repeat offender, involved in multiple cases including FIR No. 110/2022 and FIR No. 183/2022 registered at the Bandipora Police Station. Although the suspect was previously detained at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu under the PIT-NDPS Act, he has since been released.
This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the J&K Police to dismantling the financial networks of those fueling the drug menace in the region.
