Udhampur Encounter : Security Forces Recover Major Cache of Arms and War-Like Stores in Ramnagar
UDHAMPUR, February 04, 2026 — Following the successful neutralization of two terrorists in the Jophar area of Ramnagar, security forces have recovered a significant haul of weapons, ammunition, and survival gear from the encounter site.
The recovery, which highlights the operational readiness of the neutralized group, includes an AK-56 assault rifle and a damaged M4 carbine, along with two M4 magazines and four AK-56 magazines. A total of 146 live rounds—89 for the M4 and 57 for the AK-56—were seized alongside three high-intensity Chinese 86P live grenades.
Beyond high-end weaponry, the search party found specialized survival equipment including sleeping bags, plastic tarpaulins, blankets, shawls, and backpacks.
Domestic items such as a diary, “Al-Zayra” brand dates, C-type chargers, and medical supplies like syringes and Pregabalin tablets were also among the seized items.
This comprehensive recovery underscores the terrorists’ intent for a long-term sustainment in the forest area and signifies a major success for the Udhampur security apparatus in dismantling local terror logistics.
