UDHAMPUR, (J&K) Febuary 04,2026 :- The massive joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police has entered its second consecutive day in the rugged Johphar forest area of Ramnagar Tehsil.
Following specific intelligence regarding the presence of two to three terrorists, security forces have established a multi-layered security blanket across the difficult terrain to prevent any potential escape.
The operation was initially triggered around 4:00 PM yesterday when a brief but intense exchange of fire occurred between the holed-up terrorists and security personnel.
The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps officially confirmed the engagement, noting that the standoff continued throughout the night under heavy surveillance.
To ensure the threat is neutralized, all entry and exit points to the Johphar forest have been strictly sealed, with additional reinforcements and high-tech monitoring equipment deployed to the site.Senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police are currently on-site to supervise the tactical movements of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and other elite units.
Despite the challenges posed by the dense forest and steep landscape, the primary objective remains the total elimination of the trapped terrorist group.
Forces continue to navigate the area cautiously to flush out the suspects while maintaining a tight perimeter.
