Pulwama Police Crack Down on Illegal Mining: LNT Machine and Three Dumpers Seized
Pulwama, — February 03, 2026:-In a decisive move to protect natural resources and enforce environmental laws, the Pulwama Police have intensified their ongoing crackdown on illegal mining by seizing four vehicles, including a heavy-duty LNT machine and three dumpers, across the district.
The successful operation was carried out by a specialized team from the Litter Police Station during a high-vigilance checking drive in the Rambiara–Lassipora–Litter belt. During the intervention, officers intercepted an LNT machine (No. XUGA210BTNKA00033) and three dumpers (Registration Nos. JK19A-3972, JK20A-8900, and JK04G-7999) found to be actively involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals.
All machinery and vehicles were confiscated on the spot in accordance with established legal protocols.Following the seizures, the authorities officially registered a criminal case at the Litter Police Station, and a comprehensive investigation has been launched to identify the masterminds behind these illicit activities.
This latest action underscores the Jammu & Kashmir Police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating the “mining mafia” and ensuring the strict protection of the region’s ecological wealth.
